Global Handwashing Day – Oct 15, 2010
Inspired Pen Writing joins the world in celebrating Global Handwashing Day 2010, marked today, October 15.
More than 200 million people in 80 countries are taking part in events on the occasion of Global Handwashing Day.
This event is a UN-sponsored with main purpose to accentuate the importance of clean hands which can save millions of human lives most especially in deprived countries.
According to the UN Children’s Fund, infectious diseases that could be prevented by means of handwashing kill more than 3,5 million children under five every year.
Even in well-off countries, handwashing should be seriously inculcated to children as a proper hygiene.

“That washing the hands as a matter of hygiene is something people are basically told to do as children, and yet it is sometimes taken for granted even by adults, and often, a neglected practice. For people going places, a hand sanitizer also comes handy. Hand washing posters are great reminder too, as they make aware of the importance of hand-washing.” Continue reading the full article — Hand Washing the Right Way
